      Denver's 4/20 Festival

Denver’s infamous 4/20 Festival is today. Its origins go back to the 1990s when activists gathered in Civic Center Park to protest marijuana prohibition. After Amendment 64 passed, legalizing marijuana use, the rally became an official permitted event. Denver was the first city in the country to create the legal framework allowing for a thriving legal marijuana business sector that today brings in millions of dollars every year in tax revenue.
