      Denver's Oldest Bar

My Brother’s Bar, Denver’s oldest, still serves as a saloon in its original building and location at 15th and Platte streets. Founded in 1872 by Italian immigrants, Angelo and Maria Capelli, it was originally called the Highland House for its northwest Denver neighborhood.Image: Denver’s oldest groggery once had a second story but only the first floor survives. The bar is older than our state. (Colorado became a state 150 years ago in 1876.)
